A three year trial of daylight saving will begin in Western Australia on 3 December 2006.

This means that at 2am standard time on 3 December, all Western Australians will wind their clocks forward one hour until 25 March 2007.

The three year trial will give Western Australians an opportunity to “try before they buy”. A referendum will be held in 2009 to decide whether it should become permanent.

In 2007 and 2008, daylight saving will begin at 2am standard time on the last Sunday in October, and end at 2am standard time (3am daylight saving time) on the last Sunday in March the following year
